Kurt Schwitters , is a painter, sculptor and typographer born in Hannover in 1887.
He studied in the school of arts and crafts in Hannover and Dresden academy and his work was influenced by the Cubism and Expression.
By the use of rubbish Schwitters created his on Dada style called ‘Mertz’.
Moved many times including to London, had his first one man exhibition the Galerie Der Sturm, Berlin, 1920.
His work had a huge influence form the first world war while, working as a technical draftsman in a factory just outside Hanover. He was drafted into the 73rd Hanoverian Regiment which later influenced his work by the implement of mechanical pieces.
